The Mt. Meru Coffee Project enables small coffee farmers and the people of the Meru region of Tanzania to improve their standard of living and escape a cycle of poverty.

The project provides small farmers with a fair price for their premium coffee, providing an increase in farm income, allowing the farmers to support their families with dignity.
Peace Lutheran supports the Mt. Meru coffee project by serving Mt. Meru coffee and offering it for sale to our members. The project has imported, roasted, packaged and distributed an average of 8 to 12 tons of coffee per year, enabling farm families to have funds available to send children to school, access and pay for health care and support local farm villages, markets and merchants.
Coffee is also available for purchase from the Mt. Meru Coffee Project, Inc. Click "Learn More" above to go to order or learn more about Mt. Meru Coffee.

The Greater Milwaukee Synod of the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church of America) and the Diocese of Meru of the ELCT (Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania) are global partners.
For over 25 years each group has grown in faith by working together, learning together and spending time with one another.
